As we head into the holiday season, you are probably making your list and checking it twice. There’s just simply so much to do, from Christmas shopping to family dinners! And while you’re probably constantly caught up in the rush, it’s important to spend some time with the people you love the most. That’s why I’m here! As a Philadelphia family photographer, I spend a lot of time helping families make lasting memories. Here are the Philadelphia holiday events I always recommend!
Dive Into The Christmas Spirit With These Exciting Philadelphia Holiday Events
Shady Brook Farm
931 Stony Hill Road, Yardley, Pennsylvania 19067
While Shady Brook always has the best seasonal celebrations, they really come alive during their holiday events just outside Philadelphia. Starting at the end of November, you can swing by and take a tour through their amazing light displays. You can stay in your car, but I always recommend booking a ride in the tractor-drawn wagon, especially if you have younger kids!
A Longwood Christmas
1001 Longwood Road, Kennett Square, Pennsylvania 19348
Each year, The Longwood Gardens hosts A Longwood Christmas, where you can walk through radiant holiday event light displays in Philadelphia. Before your visit, you will be required to purchase admission for a timed entrance. Once you’re in, you can gaze at the lights, listen to Christmas music, and find out about all the garden’s traditions throughout the years.
LumiNature – Philadelphia Zoo
3400 W Girard Ave, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania 19104
No matter the time of year, the Philadelphia Zoo is a must-visit stop for holiday event-loving families. During the winter nights, all the animals head for bed in their enclosures, and LumiNature starts. During this event, you can view over one million lights, watch light performers, journey through a sparkling jungle, or go for a train ride through Christmas light displays.
A Very Furry Christmas Celebration at Sesame Place
100 Sesame Road, Langhorne, Pennsylvania 19047
If your kiddo loves Sesame Street, there’s a good chance you’ve already visited the Sesame Place park. If you haven’t stopped by during their holiday events, however, you are truly missing out on Philadelphia fun! For almost two months, your entire family is going to get the chance to welcome in the season with Bert, Ernie, Cookie Monster, and, of course, lovable little Elmo. They have parades, meals with the characters, and even visits with Santa!
Yuletide Liberty Hill
800 Ridge Pike, Lafayette Hill, Pennsylvania 19444
Over at Union League Liberty Hill, you can find tons of activities to get you in the holiday spirit! You can stop by for ice skating, luxury shopping, rides, and booths offering locally made goods. There are over 500 Christmas trees that add festive cheer, plus each ticket comes with a picture of Santa Claus himself! No matter what you’re looking for this season, Liberty Hill is the spot to find it!
