I love photographing twins. There is something so wondrous about seeing two babies together, who just a few weeks ago shared a womb for 9 months. The bond is like no other. Twin newborn photography offers a unique ability to capture both babies together at once but also individually, as well as family pictures.
When I received a phone call from these babies’ grand-mother, I already knew just how much they were loved. Their grandmother explained to me how she not only wanted me to capture this moment in time but also wanted large frames of the babies. When her babies were little, this is what she had done for them. She wanted to make sure she had tangible pieces of art of her grand-babies. I loved hearing that! Digital images are nice to have, but nothing compares to the value of artwork!
On the day of their session, Grandma joined to help out. An extra set of hands when twins are in the studio is always welcomed!! These two little boys were just so sweet. Hardly any cries from either one of them. When I initially met them, I asked the best way to tell them apart. I always ask this prior to getting started with twins. This is important for me to differentiate while photographing. You may be able to notice, but the answer was their hair. Different hair lines and different amounts, making it very easy for me right from the start!
For family photos, mom decided to go with a casual look over borrowing a dress. She went with jeans and a white shirt and looked amazing. Nancy, my hair and makeup artist pampered her with both hair and makeup services. How beautiful does she look? You would never know she just had two babies!
