Often times I receive client inquires for newborn sessions where Mom is undecided as to the location for her newborn session. She likes the ease of staying at home but loves the simple & timeless look of the studio. I get it, during a time where you are welcoming a new baby into the world, it feels like all your do is make decisions!! I can still remember registering for my baby shower and feeling overwhelmed by all the choices!
As your Main line newborn photographer, it is my job to make your life easier with less decisions with the experience being more enjoyable. That is what my sessions are built upon , a stress-free experience. With this, I wanted to create a blog post to explain more about in-home sessions and when they work best! 
{Main line in-home newborn photographer} In-home sessions are much more built around the family and offer a lifestyle look. With this style of photography, your session with be baby focused but family will be heavily incorporated.
When booking an in-home newborn session, I always like to make sure we have a few key elements that will play in our favor to achieve the look your are going for. Some of these elements include lighting, room decor, & wardrobe. If you love that light and airy look, we want to make sure that at least 1 to 2 of your rooms can help facilitate with that. Think lighter walls, muted toned furniture, and warm light coming through your windows. In photography, light reflects off of the objects around it. If you have dark green walls and not the best lighting, chances are your skin tones are going to reflect shades of green. With lighter colored walls, the light will bounce and create that airy & dreamy look that you are going for.
Often times, I will also discuss room options with clients ahead of time. Rooms that typically get photographed the most are the nursery and bedroom. Although, any room can work as long as it has those other elements I just discussed! Sometimes a kitchen provides a beautiful look whereas in some homes it might be a hallway or family room.
I like to say a room that has that warm & welcoming light almost always makes for a charming backdrop. Every home is different though, which is why it’s always best to plan your session ahead time with me! 
Wardrobe also plays a factor in your in-home newborn sessions as we want what you wear to coordinate with the rest of the session. Not need to stress about this, I will chat with you prior to your session and walk you through all the options, help you plan, and even bring studio wardrobe options to your home. It truly doesn’t get much easier!
In-home sessions can also incorporate the outside. Do you have a lovely garden or a beautiful front porch? Weather permitting, I love to bring the outdoors into newborn sessions. It creates variety for your gallery and provides you with a timeless & classic look!
