Want to know a little secret? I wasn’t always a Bucks County newborn photographer. In fact, I went to school for Nursing and was a Registered Nurse for years before shifting my focus to photography. If you asked me 20 years ago, I would’ve never guessed photography as my career, but life is funny like that! It wasn’t until the birth of my oldest daughter that my focus shifted, and I fell in love with the art of photography. I saw how fleeting the moments were with her, and the only thing that allowed me to hold onto these sweet moments with her were photographs.
I found the ability to freeze time through art so meaningful. During her first year, I began taking courses and workshops and soaking up all of the information I could. The rest was history! Twelve years later, here I am with a full-time business, working in a job that truly never feels like a job!
Why I Love Being a Bucks County Newborn Photographer!
So why do I love it so much? There are too many reasons to count, but here are a few!
1. Working With Babies and Mamas
Working with babies and mamas has always been my jam. As a nurse, my favorite unit was Labor and Delivery. Nothing compares to being a part of such a joyous time in a parent’s life. I love getting to know parents, spending time with new moms, hearing about their parenthood journey, and just chit-chatting about mom stuff. My clients are more like mom friends. I love watching their babies grow while documenting their family’s story. Many families have been with me from the start, and their little ones are now 11/12 years old. To me, that is such an honor.
2. Freezing the Moments
I LOVE documenting some of the most joyous moments in a parent’s life. Outside of your wedding, pregnancy and the birth of your baby are the next major and joyous milestones in your highlight reel. I love that I can capture those moments for families to treasure forever. The ability to freeze these moments in time is quite special, and it is an honor that parents select me to do it!
3. Creativity
I constantly have the ability to push myself and be creative, whether that’s with shoot locations, studio setups, posing, wardrobe, etc. I love creating in a way that showcases the love between families in an effortless yet elegant way.
4. Artwork
As a Bucks County newborn photographer, I would not fully serve my clients if I handed them their digitals and walked away. We all know albums, framing, and printing take time and effort. My business is built around serving each client to the fullest, which means I am there for them all the way up until their frames are hung on their walls. I have a design program I use to mock up my client’s walls with their pictures, allowing them to 100% visualize their artwork on their walls. This takes all the guesswork out of sizing. You can see exactly what you are purchasing.
I even will come to install the frames. When I say full service, I mean it! It makes my heart happy to leave clients knowing their memories are hung on their wall or displayed on a table where they can enjoy them daily rather than collect dust on a hard drive.
5. All the Baby Snuggles
I get to hold and snuggle newborn babies for a living. It doesn’t get much better than that!
